2025/6/3
Vice President Attorney: Takuya Yano
Last month, Ordinance No.110 issued by GM/MDIC was officially published in the Federal Register, updating the fee structure for services rendered by the BRPTO. The revised schedule includes an average increase of about 24% across service fees.
A key change concerning patents is the removal of the fee for the issuance of a letters patent or a certificate of addition of invention, which will take effect at the end of this year.
The existing discount policy remains unchanged, allowing reductions of up to 60%. Additionally, full exemptions are still granted to economically disadvantaged individuals enrolled in CadÚnico and to persons with disabilities listed in the Federal Government's Reference Registry for People with Disabilities.
